In the second week of August, supercar enthusiasts from all over Scandinavia gathered in Pärnu, Estonia, at one of the best racing tracks in our region, auto24ring.
During these four days, our car loving entrepreneurs had the chance to have an in-depth introduction of Estonia, our digital services, investment opportunities and enjoy driving on the circuit, after which also be part of a relaxing entertainment programme.
Honour Club Events co-founder, entrepreneur and professional racing driver Sten Pentus noted that the goal of the every year event in Estonia, is on one side to gather people from our region who share similar passions, which is cars and also enjoy quality time and entertainment, but also, as these people are successful entrepreneurs in their every day lives, we offer them the opportunity to be introduced to Estonia, our digital solutions, business environment and investment opportunities. “It is important to share what we have achieved here and create new friends for Estonia” said Sten Pentus.
Honour Club guests had the chance to visit Stenbock hous, where Estonia’s Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas talked about our success stories and e-residency, and also gave a good example about the cooperation between Estonia and Finland in developing a joint e-solutions platform. Rõivas pointed out that it is important to develop this platform through out the EU.
A special highlight of Honour Club Estonia 2016 was the visit of Toomas Hendrik Ilves, The President of Estonia, to auto24ring.
Mr. President gave a thorough overview to the guests about Estonias IT society, how we have managed to advance in this area and what are the problems EU still faces in moving quicker and adapting to the changes currently taking place in the world by the digital movement.
Mr. President has been a significant part of the development of Estonia becoming the leader in e-governance and Honour Club guests enjoyed the open style discussions and overview the President gave. After there were many questions asked by the guests, mainly about how to overcome obstacles in different countries who still have not managed to implement the e-solutions in their societies.
Honour Club is honoured to have had the chance to introduce Estonia to such an international group of people and we are thankful to our President and Prime Minister for taking time in giving a very interesting introduction and share their thoughts about Estonia.
Besides the cultural and business introductory programmes, our guests also enjoyed three days full of adrenaline at the great circuit auto24ring, thoughtfully selected dinners, evening entertainment programmes and relaxing at the beautiful Hedon SPA Hotel.
As the tradition continued from last years event, our guest had the chance to test their skills and compete against each other in the “Reasonably priced car” competition with the Kia Ceed, powered by Viking Motors. During two days, guests were divided into teams, where each team member had to complete a lap together with a driver change. After combining the times of both drivers, taking into account the driver change, TOP 3 teams were awarded with a beautiful glass trophy. As always, this turned out to be again the funniest activity to end the evening at the circuit.
“We are very grateful for everyone who helped to make Honour Club Estonia 2016 happen, who helped to spread the word about our country and who joined the event, we are truly honoured”, said Sten Pentus.
